Paqqijamik Naalangniq is a Nunavut-based multi-party partnership to support health care research that benefits Nunavummiut
With your help, we want to improve Nunavut’s healthcare and Inuit health outcomes through people-centered, partnership-oriented health research.
Paqqijamik Naalangniq is focused on building on existing research partnerships and the unique strengths of Inuit communities in Nunavut.
Moving people-centred and partnership-oriented health research into policy and practice within the Nunavut health care system.
What is Patient-Oriented Research (POR)?
To ensure health research meets the needs of Nunavummiut and leads to improved outcomes, POR places patients, their caregivers, and families at the center of the process as active partners. This collaborative approach covers both clinical research (exploring disease from understanding to treatment) and health services research, extending to how new knowledge is shared and used in practice. By prioritizing patient-identified concerns, POR strives for more meaningful and effective research.Â
